Guy Russo has been a professional piano technician since 2009. He studied piano technology under Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra's piano technician, Peter Stumpf, and also holds a degree in music composition from Carnegie Mellon University. Being an experienced professional musician himself, Guy not only has the technical skills required of a piano technician, but also an ear and feel for musical aesthetics.
In addition to traditional piano tuning, maintenance, and rebuilding, Guy is helping to innovate the piano world with specialized projects. Below are the highlights of his latest undertaking—working with a team of brilliant engineers, he helped to redesign, string, and tune a piano modified to have a monotone sound, tuned to middle C.
